Public policy discourse on heroin prescription, and more generally drug law reform, is invariably influenced by morality politics, with entrenched ideological positions. Almost 20 years after the heroin prescription trial was abandoned by the Federal government, this IGPA Seminar discusses prescription heroin as a rational approach to improving health and social outcomes.
The Seminar is organized in association with and support from Families and Friends for Drug Law Reform (FFDLR). The event is jointly convened by Professorial Fellow Jon Stanhope AO and Adjunct Professor Dr Khalid Ahmed PSM. It will be in the form of a panel discussion facilitated by Mr Michael Moore AO, Former MLA, ACT Legislative Assembly and currently the President of World Federation of Public Health Associations.
