The National Framework for Alcohol, Tobacco and other Drug Treatment guides a national response to treating the harm these substances cause. It addresses how treatment based on an individual’s needs and goals can reduce harm from:
- prescribed medications,
- currently illicit drugs.
This framework’s aim is that all Australians seeking alcohol and other drug treatment can access high quality treatment appropriate to their needs, when and where they need it. It includes principles for effective treatment, monitoring and evaluation.
The framework can be found here.
