ATODA delivers alcohol and other drugs (AOD) information and harm reduction training to non-government organisations and government agencies in the ACT.

Training is delivered by the Senior Training Specialist, and covers ATOD use data, trends and harm specific to the ACT context and other issues on request.

ATOD Information and Harm Reduction Training

The training covers up-to-date evidenced based AOD data and trends, detailed information about major drugs of dependence including harm reduction information and, stigma and discrimination towards people who use drugs. The training also includes basic knowledge on AOD issues in the community, AOD screening, brief intervention, treatment and referral to AOD service providers.

ATOD training on request

Training on request can be organised to match requests from the community sector, government or others. This is usually either:

  • adaptation of normal training, requiring minimal development time, or
  • development of a new training package, which will require more development time.

This training can be delivered as a one day face-to-face or in a series of online trainings via Zoom or Microsoft Teams.
